Better. You. I am talking to you, all of you over 50-ish women who are starting to feel the pinch of invisibility that often comes with age. It’s that feeling you get when you give an answer or express an opinion, only to have it easily dismissed–or worse, not heard at all. To you I say: It is NEVER too late to change. It is NEVER to late to achieve. And it is NEVER too late to love.
Clearing the Way for a Better You
We are talking about making certain that the balance of our lives is not wasted, minimized, or quietly swept away by time, aches, pains, and lack of direction. We are talking about living our speck of time on this planet in ways that make us want to get out of bed in the morning. It doesn’t matter how old you are. It is never too late to find what brings you joy in this world.
What. Do. You. Want.
Less self doubt? More purpose? Better relationships? Less anxiety? Here’s what my she-ro, Brené Brown, has to say about it:
I think midlife is when the universe gently places her hands upon your shoulders, pulls you close, and whispers in your ear:
I’m not screwing around. It’s time. All of this pretending and performing – these coping mechanisms that you’ve developed to protect yourself from feeling inadequate and getting hurt – has to go.Your armor is preventing you from growing into your gifts. I understand that you needed these protections when you were small. I understand that you believed your armor could help you secure all of the things you needed to feel worthy of love and belonging, but you’re still searching and you’re more lost than ever. Time is growing short. There are unexplored adventures ahead of you.
~ Brené Brown
Let’s work together to figure out your way forward. Downhill is not an option. Time is growing short. Let’s get started!
